Summer Community Groups
You are invited to participate in a Community Group this summer. A community group is a small group of people (about 10-15 people) who gather in homes for fellowship, study, and prayer. Several new groups are forming and some existing groups are forming again for the summer. If you are interested in being part of a community group please sign up on the list at the welcome center on Sunday mornings during May. Groups will begin meeting after the first of June.
Community Group FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)
When do Community Groups Meet?
When your group meets is decided by the group leader in consultation with the group members.
Where do Community Groups Meet?
Typically community groups meet in the homes of group members. Different group members volunteer to host the group meeting, so the groups location revolves from house to house. No one is forced to host the group at their home – only those who wish to open their home up to the group.
What do you do in Community Group?
Typically groups begin with a light meal or refreshments. Then, after a period of fellowship time, the designated discussion leader for the group meeting will lead the group in a discussion about the book or topic the group has chosen to study. After this time of study the group shares prayer requests and prays for one another. A typical community group meeting last about 1½ - 2 Hours.
Why don’t groups meet at the church?
From time to time, for numerous reasons, groups have chosen to meet at the church, however, we believe the best place for a community group in homes. Our homes are a more intimate/less institutional setting that seems to promote greater group building and group bonding.
Is Childcare available if I participate in a Small Group?
Yes. The nursery at the church will be open for children on Thursday nights during June and July so that parents of young children can participate.
