Mother's Day Out
The Early Learning Center at Saraland UMC

We are excited to be in our second year of service to the community! Our program began in the fall of 2009 as a mother’s day out program; however, we quickly evolved into something much more. We strive to provide a place that children love to come to...a place where they feel safe and loved...a place where parents know that their children are well cared for. We use The Creative Curriculum and the Sounds & Symbols Early Reading Program. Music and sign language are also a regular part of our program.

The staff and leadership at Saraland UMC are committed to offering a quality program that encourages learning on many levels. We will constantly work to encourage the development of healthy physical, spiritual, emotional and interpersonal growth of the child attending our program and the child’s family. Please be aware that we are a Christian program and will be celebrating Christian holidays with the children. Bible stories are introduced as part of the regular activities.

Saraland United Methodist Church instituted a Safe Sanctuaries Policy in June of 2008. ALL persons working with children, youth and at-risk adults at Saraland UMC must be trained to follow that policy. This includes our workers (paid and volunteer) in all of our Children’s Ministries. Our staff receive regular training and are held to high standards of conduct in the workplace.

Please contact either Michelle McDaniel, Early Learning Center Director, or Betty Moye, SUMC Director of Children’s Ministries if you have any questions.
