David, Crystal, Ella, Rob, and Ethan Couch |
Rob, Crystal, David and Ethan Couch moved to Saraland, Alabama in May 2006 and began serving Saraland United Methodist church in June 2006.
Rob and Crystal are both graduates of Auburn University where they met at the Auburn Wesley Foundation, the United Methodist student center. Rob earned his B.A. in English Literature, and Crystal a B.S. in Interior Environments, both at Auburn. Rob and Crystal were married May 20, 2000, five days after Rob completed seminary at Emory University where he earned his Master of Divinity.

Approximately two weeks after their wedding, Rob and Crystal moved to Mobile, AL and began serving at Christ United Methodist Church. While there, Rob served as the Associate Pastor, and at different times as the Minister of Outreach, and the Connection Team Leader. Crystal served with the children's ministry, on two different building committees, and as the Annual Conference volunteer coordinator. Together, Rob and Crystal started and led the Newsong Worship Service, a contemporary praise and worship service. While living in Mobile, Crystal earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of South Alabama.
In 2005 Rob was accepted into Asbury Seminary's Beeson Pastor Doctor of Ministry Program. Rob and Crystal moved to Wilmore, KY for eleven months where Rob completed his D.Min. coursework. After completing his dissertation, Rob graduated with his Doctorate in May of 2009.

Rob and Crystal have two sons and one daughter. David was born December 3, 2003 and Ethan was born April 18, 2006. Ella joined the family on December 7, 2009.
Rob and Crystal believe they have been called into ministry together, and have been sent to Saraland UMC by not only the Bishop of the Alabama-West Florida Conference, but by the Holy Spirit. They are excited about what God is doing at Saraland UMC, and can't wait to see what he will do next.
