Director of Early Learning Center
Saraland UMC is hiring a full-time director of our Early Learning Center. This position directs the approximately 16 staff and 100 children, ages birth through K4, MondayFriday
, throughout the year as well as the expanded program through grade five during the summer.
MINISTRY Requirement: We seek someone with a genuine heart for ministry, to reach our community for Christ. When God calls someone into ministry, He often calls one to leave their current church setting in order to join a church staff team. This position, like all of our ministry leader positions, requires a commitment to membership here. All of our current ministry leaders have come to us from different churches and denominations from across the country. Above denominations, Saraland UMC is primarily committed to reaching people for Jesus. We are praying for that one right person with the chemistry and heart to join together with our amazing staff team.
MANAGEMENT Requirement: Our ELC director is a busy, exciting, challenging management position. With 100 children, many great families, and 16 departmental staff, human management experience is essential. In addition, health department regulations, safety policies, teaching theory, and curriculum, mean that this position is a jack of all trades. We need this person to have seasoned maturity and experience to hit the ground running.
CHILDREN Requirement: A love of children and a demeanor to work with young ones and families is important. Our great teachers, with years of teaching experience, require the guidance of someone who has worked with and around children in the educational setting.
EDUCATIONAL Requirement: As a preschool, we want our director to present themselves with excellence in communication, grammar, and overall presentation. Educational credentials, such as a degree in education or certification in childhood development, are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time      Salary: $24,000.00 to $28,000.00 /year
