Children are a vital part of Saraland UMC. The following ministries serve children from birth through 5th grade.
|
- Children's Sunday School
Sunday School is offered at 10:00 a.m. for children age 2 years through 5th grade. LOCATION: Rooms 9 - 12.
A nursery is available for children age 2 and younger.

- YMCA Summer Day Camp
We host the YMCA Summer Day Camp each year at SUMC. This camp is for children age 5-12 years and is completely organized & supervised by YMCA staff.
- Sunday Morning Nursery
Though children of all ages are always welcome in our worship services, a nursery is provided for those who need or would like to use it. Our lobby (narthex) is also available for parents who wish to see and hear the worship service if you must step out with a child. The nursery is for children ages 0 - 2 years old and is the second-to-last classroom on the right in the Sunday School hall.
- Children’s Church
Children’s Church will be offered during both the Bold (9
a.m.) and Classic (11 a.m.) Services for children age 4
years through 2nd grade. The children will go to worship with
their parents and will be dismissed to go to Children’s
Church during the offering. Children’s Church will be held
in the Choir Room (at the top of the steps) and parents will
need to pick their children up there at the end of each service. Leaders and helpers will be needed! Parents will be asked to give at least one Sunday each quarter to help with Children’s Church. See Ms. Betty for more information.
- Children’s Worship Bulletins
Children are welcome to remain in worship with their parents if they do not wish to attend Children's Worship. Children’s Worship Bulletins will be available each Sunday along with a Worship Kit (containing crayons, paper, and a small treat). Please make sure to leave the Worship Kits to be refilled for the next week.
- WOW for Kids (Worship on Wednesdays)
Each Wednesday night at 6:15 after Wednesday Night Supper. Led by Betty Moye and her team, this is an exciting mid-week break for all kids.
- Early Learning Center
The Early Learning Center is a program at Saraland UMC for children ages 6 months through 5 years old. Child care runs from Monday through Thursday and provides children a safe and loving Christian environment in which to develop. Learn More
- Special Events
Special events are held throughout the year for children and their families such as the Fall Festival in October, the Living Nativity at Christmas time, an Easter Egg Hunt/Party in the Spring and Vacation Bible School in the Summer.

Tweenagers is for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders and meets on one Friday of each month.

Kids Night Out
Held four times a year, this evening is be full of activities for you and your friends. You have to make reservations!
Children age 2 years through 5th grade are welcome to attend. We’ll provide snacks but not dinner...Please eat before you come!
NOTE TO PARENTS:
If your kids will be attending, you will need to sign up to help with at least one Kids Night Out event.

Wow! Have you seen the new playground?
Our new playground is amazing and our children (and adults!) are already having fun on it. We have swings, a playhouse, rockopotamus (rocking boat), stage, four-piece train and a large play structure with slides, a rock wall and more! MANY adults and youth have given of their time and resources to put this playground together... Thanks to each of you for your hard work! |
